What Is The Session About?

Embark on an exclusive and immersive journey aimed at equipping participants with essential skills vital for navigating today's dynamic professional landscape. This course features a dynamic curriculum guided by the innovative Critical Core Skills Profiling tool developed by the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL). Participants will delve into key concepts such as Sense Making, inductive and deductive reasoning, and the strategic advantages of adopting a Second Level Thinking approach.

Methodology:
Utilizing the cutting-edge SkillsFuture Critical Core Skills Profiling Tool, participants begin their learning journey with a personalized assessment of their current skill set. This tailored roadmap identifies strengths and areas for improvement, shaping the course content to individual needs for a personalized and impactful learning experience. The program also dedicates significant attention to Sense Making, showcasing its practical implications in effective decision-making and problem-solving across diverse contexts.

Participants will dive into hands-on workshops and group activities, reinforcing theoretical concepts through practical application. Case studies and interactive exercises provide opportunities for participants to apply newfound knowledge dynamically.

What Does The Session Cover?

Demonstrate comprehension of Skillsfuture Critical Core Skills and their significance in navigating a VUCA World.
Acquire knowledge of the five steps involved in Sense Making.
Grasp the importance of quantitative information in the context of Exploratory Data Analysis.
Explore the use of questions as a tool to enhance understanding of qualitative information.
Differentiate between inductive and deductive reasoning.
Comprehend the implications associated with adopting a Second Level Thinking approach.
Formulating questions driven by quantitative analysis as a means to better understand qualitative phenomena.

Course Funding and Policies

Payment

Please proceed to make payment via eNets/credit card (VISA or MasterCard) at the end of the registration process. Kindly note that the system will automatically cancel the registration if full payment has not been successfully processed by 11.59pm (Singapore Time) on the same day of the registration. You will have to reapply for the course, subject to availability of vacancy at the point of your re-registration.


Additional Funding Available, If Applicable

Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit which can be used to offset the selected programmes' fees for self-sponsored registrations only.


Please note the submission period for your SFC claim via MySkillsFuture needs to be within 60 days before the course start date (date inclusive). If your course start date is more than 60 days from the date of SFC application, the SSG-SFC portal would reject your application. In this case, you would need to pay the full course fees at the end of your course application.


Rescheduling

Request for rescheduling must be submitted to IAL 2 weeks before the commencement of programme. Reschedule requests that come mid-way through training has to be supported by valid reasons; substantiated by references as evidence; such as a doctor's note; or a hospitalization chit.


Please submit your request to reschedule your course here. A non-refundable administrative fee of S$54.00 w/GST ($50) applies for the request and the next available slot will be offered.


Withdrawal

Request for withdrawal from a programme is subjected to review by IAL and the decision is final. IAL reserves the right to request for supporting document(s). A non-refundable administration fee of S$54.00 w/GST ($50)  is applicable for withdrawal request. If the withdrawal notice is given less than 2 weeks before the programme start date, the paid fees will not be refunded.


Corporate Run

For dedicated corporate runs with a contract signed with IAL, billing and payment will follow the terms of the signed contract. Otherwise, payment would be expected upon registration.

Senior Lecturer | Ngee Ann Polytechnic

A well rounded and dynamic IT professional, Mike Wee has more than 20 years of working experience in using, deploying, supporting and teaching Enterprise Systems. The companies he has worked for include BMW, Mercedes-Benz and HP.

Mike is a certified SAP Consultant and a certified Salesforce Administrator. He is a full-time educator and teaches both full-time students (young adults) and part-time students (adult learners) the intricacies of enterprise systems, from ERP to CRM to Analytics, Data Visualization and Machine Learning.

He is involved in the development and teaching of the following Diplomas, offered by Ngee Ann Polytechnic:

  • Diploma in Financial Informatics (pre-employment - PET)
  • Specialist Diploma in Data Analytics (continuing education and training - CET)
  • Advanced Diploma in Machine Learning (CET)
He also develops and teach short data analytics courses to institution like SMU and OCBC.

Mike holds a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University and a Master of Education (MEd) from the University of Adelaide. He also holds a Bachelor Degree (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. Mike is certified in ACTA and is a certified Scrum Master.
